Trail or Natural Area Projects
Currently, we are focusing volunteer efforts on removing invasive plant species and vines from our urban forests, parks, and schools. We also have projects improving trails and cleaning up streams. To volunteer for trail or natural area projects. Please email trails@charlottesville.gov or call 434-970-3656
We support scouting organizations and other groups who provide programs for youth to participate in community service projects, such as building park benches and small trail bridges. For more information email Charlottesville Parks & Recreation or call 434-970-3589.

THANKS FOR DIGGING IN!
This program recognizes the desire that many citizens share for city beautification, especially in their own neighborhoods and school grounds. Perhaps there is a small piece of Charlottesville property in your neighborhood that you would like to see improved.
Currently, we have a wide array of "spots" that adopters care for — from flower beds and annual planters on school grounds to neighborhood entrance corridors and traffic calming landscape beds. We also have some "spots" that are currently up for adoption!
If you are interested in adopting one of these areas or for additional information regarding the program, please email Charlottesville Parks & Recreation or call 434-970-3589.
