|Track your mailed ballot with Ballot Scout!|
Ballot Scout does not reflect a door-to-door delivery of your ballot. It will only provide information concerning when your ballot was scanned by the United States Postal Service. For information on whether your ballot was issued or received by our office, please check your voter record on the Department of Elections Website.
In-Person Early Voting begins on Friday September 18, 2020 and will take place during regular business hours, 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM, M-F. Additionally, our office will be open on Saturdays October 24 and 31 from 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM for early voting. October 31 is the last day to vote early for the November 3, 2020 General Election.
As of July 1, 2020, voters no longer need a reason to apply for a mail ballot. Voters with a Virginia DMV-issued ID may apply online for a mail ballot. If you do not have a Virginia Driver’s License, you can print the mail ballot application (PDF). Upon completion you can mail, email, or fax (434-970-3249) the application to our office. Voters may also call us to request that a paper application be mailed to them. Ballots start going out about 45 days prior to the election. Once your ballot has been mailed, you can follow its progress through the United States Postal Service by using Ballot Scout.
Voters can either mail their voted ballot back to the Voter Registration Office using the materials provided in their mail ballot packet OR drop off their ballot in-person. THERE IS A MAIL BALLOT DROP BOX LOCATED JUST OUTSIDE THE VOTER REGISTRATION OFFICE that will be available to voters until 7:00 pm on November 3. There will also be mail ballot drop boxes at each polling place on Election Day.
Voters can check their registration status using the online Citizen Portal or by calling our office. Most voters who wish to register for the first time or update their registration can complete the process online. Please contact our office if you would like to request a paper voter registration application (PDF).
