[ARCHIVED] Antron Rashawn Mills and Jayden Lamar Riley sentenced in unrelated criminal prosecutions

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA - On Tuesday, November 16, Charlottesville Circuit Court Judge Humes J Franklin sentenced Antron Rashawn Mills to twenty years in prison for indictments charging felony hit and run and involuntary manslaughter. Eight years of that sentence was suspended leaving an active sentence of twelve years. The eight years was suspended on the conditions of five years of intensive supervised probation and twenty years of good behavior.

Also on Tuesday, Jayden Lamar Riley was sentenced in an unrelated criminal prosecution.  In that case, Judge Humes J Franklin sentenced Mr. Riley to thirteen years in prison for indictments charging felony malicious wounding and use of a firearm during the commission of a felony.  Nine years and six months of that sentence was suspended leaving an active sentence of three years and six months  The suspended sentence was conditioned on two years of intensive supervised probation and ten years of good behavior.

Commonwealth’s Attorney Joe Platania stated “while this office views incarceration as a last resort, not a first option, these prosecutions illustrate that individuals who present a threat to public safety will be held accountable.”
