An Attic Fire Raged in a Charlottesville Apartment Building; CFD Extinguishes Fire and Saves Building
CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA - Firefighters from across the city were called to the 100 block of Carrollton Terrace in the Jefferson Park Avenue Neighborhood last night around 7 p.m. Firefighters arrived within three minutes as black smoke filled the area at a multi-story apartment building.
Flames and smoke were seen from the roof and firefighters immediately began searching for trapped victims. The fire, located in the attic, was difficult to extinguish because of the high heat and thick smoke. Charlottesville firefighters successfully extinguished the fire and confirmed that no one was trapped or injured. Portions of JPA were closed last night for several hours.
