CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA - Today in Charlottesville Circuit Court, Mario Jarman Hodges was sentenced for attempted rape, malicious wounding, and abduction.
“Judge Richard E Moore sentenced Mario Jarman Hodges to 40 years in prison for the abduction, malicious wounding and attempted rape of a victim identified by her initials, MN," said Charlottesville Commonwealth’s Attorney Joe Platania, who prosecuted Mr. Hodges.
Fourteen years of that sentence was suspended leaving an active sentence of twenty six years. The fourteen years was suspended on the conditions of five years of intensive supervised probation, forty years of good behavior and mandatory sex offender registration every thirty days with the Virginia State Police.
"While no sentence can ever fully address the horrific trauma suffered by MN, this proceeding hopefully brings her some measure of closure and allows her to move on with her life,” said Platania.
