May 20, 2021

Following their graduation from the Central Shenandoah Criminal Justice Training Academy on Thursday, the Charlottesville Police Department is excited to welcome its newest officers.

Officers Heather Bradley and Brian Curry will be sworn in by City of Charlottesville’s Deputy Clerk of Court, David Schmidt in City Council Chambers on Friday, May 21, at 1 p.m.

Officers Bradley and Curry completed nearly five months of rigorous training at the academy and will begin their field training immediately.

“As we continue to imagine the intersection of justice and policing in Charlottesville, I am confident these officers understand and support our mission of ‘Service Beyond the Call,’” said Chief RaShall Brackney.

Family members of the officers have been invited to the ceremony. However, the ceremony is closed to the public, and will be streamed live on the Charlottesville Police Department’s Facebook page.

Credentialed media are welcome to attend; contact Public Information Officer Tyler Hawn for details.
