Carver and Key Recreation Center Reopen and Offer New Affordable Options for Customers
CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA - Carver Recreation Center and Key Recreation Center have reopened to the public after a long closure due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Patrons at Carver Recreation Center are able to utilize the fitness center, gymnasium and group fitness classes. At Key Recreation Center, the gymnasium is open for indoor basketball and pickleball. Reservations are currently required for Carver Recreation Center and more information is located online . Reservations are not required for Key Recreation Center.
In addition to the facilities reopening, Charlottesville Parks & Recreation is offering new Fitness and Wellness pass options. The new pass offers flexibility and affordability for customers to have access to a single facility, Carver Recreation Center or Crow Indoor Pool (opening May 29), or access to both facilities. The Fitness and Wellness Pass will be also valid at Smith Aquatic & Fitness Center once it reopens in August 2021.
Customers who purchase a Fitness and Wellness pass will have access to the amenities at the facility or facilities that they have chosen for the duration of the pass. This new structure allows customers to purchase a pass based on what their fitness and wellness goals and needs are. Customers who purchase a single facility pass will also pay less than what the previous pass rates were before the COVID-19 closures. Fitness and Wellness passes are also eligible for the Parks & Recreation scholarship that provides discounts for individuals or families in need financial assistance.
Customers can purchase a Fitness and Wellness pass online at https://webtrac.charlottesville.gov or at the front desk of Carver Recreation Center or Crow Indoor Pool.
