CITY COUNCIL WILL HOLD A LISTENING SESSION ON TUESDAY, AUGUST 4 AT 4PM
CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA - Charlottesville City Council will hold a virtual listening session related to policing in the City of Charlottesville on Tuesday, August 4, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
The Goal of this listening session is to provide members of the Charlottesville community with an opportunity to share their concerns, critiques, and suggestions regarding policing in our community. This listening session will allow the public, Councilors, Dr. Richardson, Chief Brackney and other key staff members the opportunity to hear feedback from citizens about ideas related to deconstructing our local policing system.
The proposed agenda is as follows:
- 4:00 pm – Call the Meeting to Order and Welcome (Vice Mayor Magill)
- 4:05 pm – Statement about the Intention of the Listening Session (Dr. Richardson)
- 4:15 pm – Public Comments
- 5:30 pm – Break
- 5:45 pm – Public Comments
- 6:55 pm - Closing Remarks
- 7:00 pm – Adjournment (Vice Mayor Magill)
