Survey Seeks Public Input on Police Chief Search
CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA - The City of Charlottesville is seeking public input on what character traits community members are looking for in the next Charlottesville Police Department chief.
POLIHIRE, a Washington, D.C.-based search firm, has built sixteen years of success in identifying leadership with a focus on excellence, accountability, and diversity in public-serving agencies and organizations. The survey, created and managed by POLIHIRE, seeks to gather feedback on which traits the next chief should embody, what topics are most important for the next chief to focus on once hired, and what advice residents have for the chief.
Results of the survey will be analyzed by POLIHIRE’s team directly, and the results will help the firm and the City Manager as they begin to create the best profile to begin accepting applications for the position and start the interview process.
City Manager Michael Rogers states that “we are hoping to hear from as many residents from Charlottesville as possible. Community input on what the community wants in its new police chief will be very helpful in framing a recruitment profile so that we attract top candidates to consider.”
The survey can be found at the links below and on the City's website homepage in both English and Spanish. It will close for input August 15, 2022.
