[ARCHIVED] Charlottesville Parks & Recreation Outdoor Pools Hours of Operation Changes

Charlottesville

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
June 10, 2022

Charlottesville Parks & Recreation Outdoor Pools Hours of Operation Changes

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA - Charlottesville Parks & Recreation has adjusted the hours of operation at Onesty Family Aquatic Center and Washington Park Pool due to low lifeguard staffing.  Beginning Saturday, June 11, the pools will have an alternating schedule, which will only allow one pool to be open each day due to the staffing that is available at this time.  The Department is actively recruiting lifeguards and if the staffing levels increase and are able to operate both pools concurrently, we will update the operating hours.

Summer pool passes are valid at both pools as well as Smith Aquatic & Fitness Center so customers are able to utilize one outdoor pool or an indoor pool each day of the week.  Spray grounds will continue to be open daily during the summer.  Additionally, the welcome back daily admission special has been extended until the pools reach full operation.
