**UPDATE** - CPD Responds to Shots Fired Incident

Charlottesville, VA - The Charlottesville Police Department has been informed that the Fry's Spring Beach Club was the site of a private event where a portion of the funds collected would be donated to a local nonprofit organization called Peace in the Streets.

CPD would like to issue an apology to Peace in the Streets for being unable to clarify in the first release that they were a fundraising beneficiary, due to information provided early on in the investigation that indicated the group was listed on a flyer for the event, as well as an application to Virginia Alcohol Beverage Control for the event.

The investigation into the shooting is ongoing.  Anyone with information is encouraged to call CrimeStoppers at 434-977-4000.

[ORIGINAL RELEASE BELOW]

Charlottesville Police Officers responded to multiple calls for shots fired at the Fry's Spring Beach Club at approximately 2:30 AM on 03/20/2022.

Two adult males were shot during the incident and sustained non-life threatening injuries.  Both are reportedly in stable condition.  Forensic Technicians have recovered over 100 cartridge casings in the vicinity of the Fry's Spring Beach Club.  The Charlottesville Police Department has been informed that the Fry's Spring Beach Club was hosting an event for an organization called Peace in the Streets.

This investigation is ongoing.  If you have any information, please call CrimeStoppers at 434-977-4000.
