The City of Charlottesville created an EV charger mini-grant program to support increased locations for electric vehicle charging within Charlottesville. This program was created from the Green City Initiatives Fund on November 4, 2013. The Green City Initiatives Fund is for use by City Council to sponsor sustainability-related pilot projects and initiatives that promote and support its Green City Vision. This mini-grant program aims to support the development of a publicly-accessible EV charging network in Charlottesville with charging stations located around the City near or co-located with commercial and retail activities, easily accessible from likely entrance routes to the City, managed with reasonable rates and hours of use, and listed on publicly-accessible charging locator maps and databases used by EV drivers.
The U.S. Department of Energy maintains an updated map of EV charging stations located around the United States and Canada. View the Alternative Fueling Station Locator webpage and download the app to see public charging stations around Charlottesville, Virginia, and North America.
