    1. Youth and Guardian Expectation Form

      A completed CAYIP application packet consists of three parts:

      1) The CAYIP Application

      2) The CAYIP Agreement to Participate

      3) The Youth and Guardian Expectation Form. 

      This is section 3 of 3. Please keep this copy for your records. When submitted, the form will bring you back to the CAYIP homepage

    2. 1. Youth will receive an orientation manual that outlines expectations, key dates, and program policies. Please review this manual with your child and reach out to CAYIP staff with any questions.
    3. 2. Transportation is NOT provided by CAYIP or its staff. Parents/Guardians are responsible to arrange for transportation for the youth. Charlottesville Area Transit and JAUNT are options for area youth.
    4. 3. Interns can earn a performance-based stipend of up to $10.00 per hour worked. If your child does not meet expectations at their job, they will receive deductions. Please see the manual for more information on expectations and pay day schedule.
    5. 4. In an effort to keep participants, staff, and community members safe all program participants and staff are expected to follow the City of Charlottesville policies regarding COVID mitigation. If a youth refuses to comply with these expectations, they may be excused from the program. Please be advised that these mitigation strategies may include by are not limited to masking, proof of vaccination, and/or COVID testing.
    6. 5. Some CAYIP partners may have additional mitigation practices and policies. If your child is matched and accepts placement at a site, the expectation is that your child would follow the mitigation practices and policies outlined by that site.
    7. 6. Communication is key to a successful program. Providing a reliable phone number, email address and accurate mailing address is necessary.
    8. 7. Interns are allowed two days off called “Excused Absences” that they can utilize during the session and still get paid. They must call their Site Supervisor and CAYIP Counselor 24 hours in advance for approval. Please encourage your child to use these wisely.
    9. 8. Injuries need to be reported to CAYIP Counselors within 18 hours of the incident.
