Charlottesville City Offices will be closed Thursday, July 4, 2024 in observance of Independence Day. 

Charlottesville Area Transit (CAT) 

Charlottesville Area Transit (CAT) will operate their Extended Lifeline Service.

City Trash and Recycling Services 

There will be no residential curbside trash or recycling collection on Independence Day, July 4th. Service will resume on Friday, July 5th, one day behind, and the sliding schedule will complete on Saturday, July 6th.

The uptown and downtown business route will be provided one collection for trash and recycling on Thursday, July 4th. This collection will begin at 7 AM.
