CPD Seeking Information on Bainbridge St Shooting

 

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA - The Charlottesville Police Department (CPD) is seeking information on a vehicle of interest in relation to the Bainbridge St shooting. 

The shooting occurred on Monday, January 29, 2024, in the area of Carlton Ave and Bainbridge St in the Belmont neighborhood. This vehicle was in the area before and after the incident.

A 42-year-old Albemarle County man suffered life-threatening gunshot wounds as a result of the shooting. He is now in stable condition and recovering at the UVA Medical Center.

(Original Release) CPD Responds to Shooting Near Carlton Ave

 

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA - On January 29, 2024, at approximately 8:45 p.m., CPD officers responded to multiple calls for a shots fired report in the area of Bainbridge St. and Carlton Ave.

Upon arrival, multiple shell casings were located on the scene. The victim, a 42-year-old male resident of Albemarle County, was able to drive himself to the UVA Medical Center and is still receiving treatment for life-threatening gunshot wounds. Detectives and forensic technicians are currently investigating the incident.

At this time, we believe this to be an isolated and targeted incident.
