CPD Graduates Most Diverse Class in Department History


CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA – Today, the largest and most diverse class in Charlottesville Police Department (CPD) history graduated from the Central Shenandoah Criminal Justice Training Academy (CSCJTA).


CPD's new officers include 5 women, 6 black males, 2 white males, and 1 Hispanic male.

While at the academy, officers in training spend 22 weeks undergoing extensive academic and physical training. After graduating today, they will attend approximately 6 weeks of internal training and several months of field training, where they will eventually be released to solo patrol.

Please join us in welcoming our newest officers!

Additionally, we invite members of the media to attend their swearing in ceremony, which will be held tomorrow, Friday, November 17, at the Old Metropolitan Hall (101 E Main St) at 2:30 p.m.
