Charlottesville Police Officer Seriously Injured During Arrest of a Juvenile Suspect
CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA - On October 30th, Charlottesville Police Officer, Trevis Wood, was attempting to serve an existing detention order that was issued on a juvenile. While attempting to take the individual into custody, a struggle ensued, wherein the juvenile is alleged to have assaulted Officer Wood.
The Juvenile fled and was taken into custody by responding CPD Officers shortly thereafter. The suspect has been charged with felony malicious wounding of a police officer.
As a result, Officer Wood suffered significant injuries and was flown to UVA medical center where he is currently listed in serious, but stable condition.
Officer Wood, Patrol Division, CPD, has been employed with the Charlottesville Police Department since May 16, 2022.
