Charlottesville Proclaims October 4 as Energy Efficiency Day

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA – The City of Charlottesville has recognized October 4, 2023 as Energy Efficiency Day, joining over 1000 communities and organizations in highlighting the benefits available from energy efficiency improvements. Energy efficiency upgrades allow City residents and businesses to improve the health, comfort, and durability of their homes and offices, all while saving on energy bills. As Charlottesville looks to make progress on its Climate Action Plan, energy efficiency improvements are one of the most cost-effective means of lowering carbon emissions and reducing associated air pollution. Several federal and utility-sponsored incentive programs are now available to help with costs of certain efficiency improvements; a list of locally available incentives and resources can be found on the City Climate Program’s website.
