Please plan to join us, fellow community members, and community organizations on Thursday, June 9, 5PM - 7PM for a final, virtual, Community Workshop to inform Charlottesville's Climate Vulnerability Assessment!
The Climate Vulnerability Assessment will be used as a starting point for developing a Climate Adaptation Plan. The Vulnerability Assessment process, which began in Fall 2021, identified the top projected climate hazards for Charlottesville. Community members and government staff then identified the top community systems that could be affected by our area's climate hazards. An online survey was conducted April - May 2022 to gather more information about vulnerable locations and where (or how) our community could be most impacted.
The June 9th community workshop will review and build upon these previous engagement efforts and begin to look ahead towards the climate adaptation planning process. The Climate Vulnerability Assessment is expected to be completed this summer.
More details on the June 9th workshop to come. Please save the date!
