FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
May 18, 2022
The City of Charlottesville is excited to partner with Albemarle County, Virginia Clean Cities, and the University of Virginia for a community showcase of electric equipment.
On Monday, May 23rd, join us at the Albemarle County Office Building parking lot on McIntire Road, by the new EV charging stations, to view, ride, or drive a variety of light-duty electric vehicles.
From 3 - 5 pm, Fleet Managers and Vehicle Operators are invited to take a test drive of one of several on- and off-road electric vehicles that are the future of landscape and park maintenance! Learn about innovations in work vehicles that can help your team maintain or increase productivity, reduce the fumes you or your staff breathe while on the job, and reach your low/no-emission goals. Hear from a UVA fleet manager about staff experience operating these EVs. Public Works and Parks & Rec staff are especially encouraged to attend.
From 5 - 6 pm, Community members are invited to view a demonstration of the vehicles and learn more about Albemarle County's commitment to climate action in our operations.
View event information on Albemarle County's website.
