Stop The Bleed Training

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA - CFD Partners with The B.U.C.K SQUAD to provide life-saving skills.

Thursday, the Charlottesville Fire Department will provide Stop the Bleed training to a local volunteer group The B.U.C.K Squad. The B.U.C.K Squad's mission is to reduce the cycle of gun-related crime and homicides through education and economic empowerment by restoring a sense of commitment, community, and personal development.

The CFD will provide “Stop the Bleed” training this Thursday, April 28th from 7 pm to 9 PM at its Ridge Street Fire Station.

“Stop the Bleed” is a national preparedness program created in 2016 by the American College of Surgeons. The program aims to reduce the number of people who die from uncontrolled bleeding during mass casualty events, shootings, natural disasters, and everyday emergencies by training ordinary citizens in lifesaving bleeding control techniques.

Uncontrolled bleeding is the number one cause of preventable death from trauma. By providing community organizations like the B.U.C.K Squad skills, they can help prevent preventable deaths in our community.

Below you will find information for the BUCK SQUAD’s Stop The Bleed Training scheduled for the evening of April 28th.

Location: Ridge Street Fire Station  203 Ridge St. 2nd floor Training Room

Time: 7 PM - 9 PM       Schedule:  Stop The Bleed Lecture & Stop the Bleed Practical training

News media may be present to conduct coverage and Interviews.

Thanks to a local donation from Mission BBQ 16 Stop the Bleed Kits are being given to the BUCK Squad to use in the event of an emergency.
