GHG Emissions Data Updated on the City Website

Charlottesville GHG Inventory Pie Chart Graphic

Greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions inventories support the work of the Climate Protection Program, established to pursue the City’s commitments to reducing the greenhouse gas emissions associated with its community-wide activities. Emissions inventories measure and track community-wide greenhouse gas emissions associated with activities within the City of Charlottesville’s jurisdictional boundary and according to established reporting protocol standards.

Beginning in 2018, Charlottesville has annually submitted reports to CDP - the reporting platform used by the Global Covenant of Mayors Commitment. Submissions have included GHG emissions inventory data and have been available publicly on the CDP Open Data Portal.

In order to make the City's GHG inventory data more accessible to the community, the City's GHG Emissions Inventory webpage has been updated to include available inventory datasets as .csv files along with a few summary charts and tables.
