Useful Information and Council Records

NOTE: During the local state of emergency related to the Coronavirus (COVID-19), City Council Chambers are closed to the public and meetings are being conducted virtually via a Zoom webinar. The webinar is broadcast on Comcast Channel 10 and on all the City’s streaming platforms. Public hearings and other matters from the public will be heard via the Zoom webinar which requires advanced registration at www.charlottesville.gov/zoom. You may also participate via telephone and a number is provided with the Zoom registration or by asking the clerks for the dial-in phone number for each meeting. [Remote participation supported for the duration of the City Manager’s Declaration of Emergency issued March 12, 2020.]

Public Comment

Time is open at the beginning of each regular meeting for up to sixteen speakers on subjects not scheduled for a public hearing. Visit our Community Matters sign-up page to request a time in advance (first eight spaces chosen by lottery). Additional time is open for speakers at the end of the meeting. All speakers are asked to state your name and locality, and limit remarks to three minutes. Requests to speak should be sent no earlier than two weeks prior to the meeting, and will be accepted beginning the morning following a regular Council meeting.

Video

Council meetings are televised live on Charlottesville’s Own TV10 and may also be viewed on-demand. Meetings are also live streamed on the City's Facebook page. Visit our streaming pages for video of recent meetings.
