City Council Vision

A Center for Lifelong Learning

In Charlottesville, the strength of our education is measured not by the achievements of our best students, but by the successes of all our students. Here, an affordable, quality education is cherished as a fundamental right, and the community, City schools, Piedmont Virginia Community College and the University of Virginia work together to create an environment in which all students and indeed all citizens have the opportunity to reach their full potential.

Dollars for College

The Charlottesville Community Scholarship Program offers aid to low- and moderate-income high school students (graduating seniors at CHS) and adults who live in Charlottesville and who wish to attend college. The scholarships also are open to employees of the City of Charlottesville and the Charlottesville School System, regardless of where they live. The deadline for receipt of all materials is October 1st. Questions may be directed to E-Mail or 434.961-5203. Check out the website to learn how you may be able to benefit from this program.
