The first annual Commissioners and Cans Food and Fund Drive for the Commonwealth is a two week event to raise food and funds for local Area Food Banks.  The Commissioner of the Revenue’s Office will begin collecting non- perishable food items for our own Blue Ridge Area Food Bank.  The food and fund drive begins February 1st and ends February 15th.

Food drop-off locations are in the City Hall Lobby, the Commissioner of the Revenue’s Office, the City Parks and Recreation Office below the Market Street Parking Garage, and the offices of Neighborhood Development Services during normal business hours, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Online donations can be made at the Commissioners and Cans donate page.

Checks made out to The Blue Ridge Area Food Bank (memo:  City of Charlottesville Commissioner Drive) will be accepted in the Commissioner of the Revenue’s Office.

This is an important way for our community to help fill the gap in food resources in our area.  Donations will provide nourishment for many of our friends and neighbors in need.
