Community Listening Session

Tuesday, August 14, 6:00pm – 8:00pm

Jefferson School African American Heritage Center Auditorium

233 4th St NW, Charlottesville, VA

This listening session will be an opportunity for Council to hear from the Charlottesville community about issues and concerns regarding the impact of the A12 weekend.

While there has been extensive planning and preparation surrounding last weekend, no one knows the impact the weekend had on our community.  That is why the Councilors want to make sure they give community members an opportunity to be heard.   Please keep in mind that there may be few immediate answers to difficult questions on that day, but Council’s staff will be compiling what is shared that evening and will provide that input to the team who will be working to finalize an After Action Report.

Speakers will have an opportunity to address Council, and we hope to be able to hear from as many individuals as possible during the listening session. There will also be an opportunity to offer written comments and concerns. The meeting will be live-streamed on social media for those that cannot attend.

We hope you will be able to join us, as we start the process of moving our community forward in a positive direction, and reclaiming our narrative.
